Harmony Mine PDF Print E-mail

I grew up in Salmon, Idaho, and spent many years on a ranch on Withington Creek not too far from Salmon.  Further up the creek was the old Harmony Mine.  Until a few years ago, there were a lot of partial structures still visible and it was fun to hike up to the mine and explore.  That is all gone after a forest fire that consumed all the remaining structures a few years ago.  I do have more information on the mine filed away somewhere, and when I locate it I will add it to this page.

While still in high-school (early '60's) a couple of my classmates and I hiked into the old mine site.  Many of the buildings were still standing at that time, and while looking through some of them, I found an envelope of photo negatives.  It is these negatives that gave me the following pictures.   Again, these most likely would have been taken sometime between 1925 and 1928.

I have no way to identify any of the people in the pictures -- I present them for their historical interest.
