Words of Wisdom PDF Print E-mail

Not all my words, but words I have come to appreciate over the years:

Half of being smart is knowing what you're dumb at.

My Grandmother would never vote for anyone she knew, because all the politicians she knew were crooks.

My father used to have 3 therories on raising children.  He now has 3 children and NO theories.

You Cannot argue with a skunk and come out smelling like a rose.

Don't waste your time worrying about things you can do nothing about.

The biggest problem with knowing all the answers is that's when people stop asking questions.

As a broadcast engineer I have come to learn there are no days off, just off days.

As my Dad approached the latter years of his life, he was heard to comment, " I've never been afraid to die, but nothing prepared me for old age. "

My father-in-law, Daniel Albertson, once commented after attending a funeral, "I don't know why I went to his funeral.  He won't be at mine."

Seen on a bumper sticker:   If a Train Station is where a train stops, what is a Work Station?

And, of course, if Pro and Con are opposites, then what is the opposite of Progress?

Sometimes the wisdom and logic of out kids will surprise us.  They can very often be profound beyond their years.

My son Ben, at about age 2, had dressed himself.  He did well for a two-year-old, but his shoes were on the wrong feet.  When I confronted him by telling him they were on the wrong feet, he contemplated this for a moment, and then said, "But Dad, they are the only feet I have!"
