Welcome

Personal Website for Rockwell Smith

June 4, 2011 I took the exam for my ham license -- I am happy to say I passed the technician class, the general class, and the Extra.   I have totally enjoyed the journey from simply watching the hobby to active participation.  To follow the journey and updates as I got on the air, click on the call sign:

On October 24, 2010 during the morning, Betty Smith - Don's wife and my mother - left us peacefully to be with Don.  Freed from the confines of a failing body and a loneliness she often expressed, we rejoice with her having completed her journey; a journey she has been ready to take for some time. My tribute to Dad is here.

My older sister Heather, who has been an author for many years, has reluctantly been dragged into the computer and internet world little by little.  She has finally been asked to post a blog.... and here it is.    And, I have recently learned she has added yet another....

Personal note:  While many of you reading my site are strangers, there are those of you that knew my family.  If you are one of those, please see the update on the page I have posted in memory of Dad.  Thank you.

If you have any other headings you think might be of interest, let me know.   The original front page is still here .........
