Regarding the FCC license, I got my first-class ticket May 3, 1961. It was a great accomplishment for me, and I was very proud of what it represented. At teh time, the exams were "essay type" and graded by an engineer. You really had to know some "stuff" to get that ticket.
Waht a shame to simply trash the whole concept.
One other step down from excellence....sometimes I think the country's going to hell in a handcart...
